Sven Klein and Cristoria and Professional Experience

Sven H. Klein is the Founder and Managing Member of Cristoria Insurance Services LLC. Cristoria is a professional organization that facilitates capital investments through insurance carrier’s Private Placement Separate Account Platform.

Prior to Cristoria’s formation, Mr. Klein was responsible for the general management and served on the investment committee of a private investment partnership located in Santa Barbara, California. Prior to that, Mr. Klein managed equity trading portfolios at First New York Securities, LLC. Preceding First New York Securities, LLC, Mr. Klein was a co-founder of Bargain Network, Inc. Bargain Network Inc. was purchased by Vertrue Inc, (NASDAQ: VTRU) in November of 2004.

Mr. Klein holds the Series 7, 55 and 63 Securities licenses. Mr. Klein is a licensed life insurance agent in California (License Number 0D96293), Connecticut, South Dakota, Illinois and New York. Mr. Klein is an appointed life insurance agent with various insurance carriers.

Mr. Klein has lived in Santa Barbara since 1985. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Business Economics. While at UCSB he was president of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity (1993-1994). He is married and has one daughter. He was born and raised in Germany and speaks fluent German. He enjoys competing in triathlons, open-water swimming, golf, tennis, scuba diving, snow/water skiing, theater and traveling.

Mr. Klein’s philanthropic and civic involvement is as follows:

Santa Barbara Foundation – Katherine Harvey Fellows Program

Sven Klein is a member of the 2004-2005 Katherine Harvey Fellows Program at the Santa Barbara Foundation. The fellowship is an eighteen month program for young professionals to become familiar with the work of the Foundation, learn about pressing community issues, be involved in active grant making, and explore ways to make a significant, lasting impact in the community. Through this prestigious fellowship, participants deepen their knowledge about, and commitment to, community leadership, service and philanthropy.

Values exemplified by the life of Katherine Harvey, a former Foundation trustee and well-known philanthropist and patron of the arts who died in 1962, were the impetus to prepare future leaders for both the Santa Barbara Foundation and the community.



Santa Barbara City College - Scholarship Program
As co-founder and senior executive of Bargain Network, Inc. Sven Klein was instrumental in creating a public service grant to benefit the SBCC scholarship program. A student studying in the business/economics field was chosen and received aid in his/her quest to transfer to either UCSB or Westmont College.

Sven was involved in development and deployment of company assets to facilitate the 2-year scholarship.

Santa Barbara City College combines comprehensive academic programs and modern facilities on a beautiful seaside campus creating a learning environment unmatched throughout the nation.



Black and Blue Ball – A benefit for the Muscular Dystrophy Association

As co-founder and senior executive of Bargain Network, Inc. Sven Klein participated in the lead sponsorship of the 6th annual Black and Blue Ball benefiting the MDA. To date the Black and Blue Ball has raised over $750,000 for the Mid-State Chapter of the MDA.

The MDA is a voluntary health agency working to conquer over 40 neuromuscular diseases that affect hundreds of thousands of Americans. Local clients are provided with funds to purchase much needed medical equipment, attend support groups and a weeklong summer camp for children. All of these services are provided to our clients at no cost to them. Most important, MDA is making landmark achievements in the search to discover treatments and cure for these devastating neuromuscular diseases. With your help, we will continue to offer these services to local individuals affected by this devastating illness.



United Way of Santa Barbara – CEO Issues Forum Dinner
As co-founder and senior executive of Bargain Network, Inc. Sven Klein co-coordinated the 1998 CEO Issues Forum Dinner at the San Ysidro Ranch. The evening was a benefit for the United Way of Santa Barbara. The event attracted 30 Presidents and CEOs of public and private corporations from the Santa Barbara community. The goal of the forum was to increase the United Way’s visibility in the local business community and involved businesses which had not been previously active with the United Way.

Established locally in 1923, Santa Barbara County's United Way has been working year-round to involve people - through contributions of money and time - to provide a vital network of services to people in need.
